Metal Roof Systems
Metal roof systems are divided into two primary groups: pre-engineered systems and standing seam systems. The pre-engineered metal roofs have exposed fasteners and the standing seam roof systems are attached to the roof with a concealed method. Metal roofs can be removed and replaced, or in some cases, a metal roof can be installed over an existing metal application which requires a high degree of expertise.
Metal roof systems are very unique and CentiMark has a division of our company, MetalMark, which specializes exclusively in metal applications. CentiMark is able to provide customized metal panels of various lengths that can be form fitted to our customers' unique requirements and specifications. Roof systems can be installed with various types of metals.
The installation of a single-ply roof system over existing metal roofs consists of a three-part method:
- The first layer of insulation is installed into the flutes (between the ridges in the roof). This layer provides structural support for the next layer of insulation and also adds R-Value helping to reduce energy costs.
- A second layer of insulation is fastened directly to the metal deck or purlins through the first layer providing a uniform substrate for the membrane.
- To finish, a single-ply membrane is installed over the insulation and mechanically attached into the purlins.
This retrofit application can provide owners with an outstanding solution that can include up to a 20-year warranty.
In addition to full replacement and retrofit services, CentiMark offers metal roof maintenance related services such as the removal and replacement of purlins and upgrading the frame system to comply with new codes. These are just a few examples of the maintenance services CentiMark provides.
